The Chamber of Deputies plenary approved today (7) a bill requiring companies in the fuel sector to send to the National Petroleum, Natural Gas and Biofuels Agency (ANP) the data that make up the prices of products sold. The bill moves forward for analysis by the Senate.

According to the text, the submission of information will cover producers of petroleum, natural gas, biofuels and natural gas. The ANP, in turn, will report, monthly, online, the composition of average prices to consumers in state capitals for five fuels: automotive gasoline; diesel oil; liquefied petroleum gas; aviation kerosene; and hydrated ethanol.

Under the proposal, ANP will also have to report, every month, the composition of average selling prices of natural gas to pipeline gas distributors in state capitals that have a supply point for this fuel.

The bill provides that companies report average values of 11 components making up consumer fuel prices, such as the average production cost of petroleum of domestic origin; the average production cost of natural gas of domestic origin; the billing price of importers; the gross margin for fuel distribution; the gross margin for retail resale of automotive fuels; and taxes paid. Companies that fail to report these values will be subject to fines ranging from R$ 5,000 to R$ 1 million.
