DP World has announced the opening of applications for the "Women in Operations" program, an initiative aimed at training and professional development of women interested in joining the port and logistics sector. In this new phase, the project now serves women from Santos and throughout the Greater Santos area, expanding its reach and reinforcing the company's commitment to female inclusion in operations.
Previously restricted to internal staff, the program now offers eight openings for training internal transfer vehicle (ITV) operators. The expansion consolidates, under a single name, the multinational's actions aimed at qualifying women for operational roles within the terminal.
With a total workload of 40 hours, distributed across four-hour sessions, the course will combine technical training and behavioral development, with a focus on port operations and preparation for job interviews. Among the highlights of the training are activities in simulator and practical experience, providing participants with an experience close to the real terminal routine.
Classes will be taught by professionals from the company itself, including specialized instructors in Portainer, RTG (Rubber Tyred Gantry) and ITV (Internal Transfer Vehicle), connecting theory and operational practice with daily port experience.
Upon completion of the program, participants will receive a completion certificate, strengthening professional qualification and expanding opportunities for entry into the job market, especially in a sector that continues to expand and with growing demand for specialized labor.
To participate, it is necessary to hold a National Driver's License (CNH) Category E and the MOPP (Operational Handling of Dangerous Goods) course. Registrations are free, and classes are scheduled to begin on June 8, in the morning.
The initiative reinforces a trend already observed at the company's terminal in Santos. Since operations began in 2013, the female presence has grown significantly, with an increase of over 228%, according to recent data disclosed by the company. Currently, more than half of the company's women work in operational roles.
DP World stresses that completion of the program does not guarantee immediate hiring, but enables participants to compete for positions in the port and logistics sector, expanding career opportunities for women in the region.
