Coffee exports from the Vitória port complex registered strong growth in 2026 and have already surpassed, in just eight months, the entire volume shipped by Espírito Santo throughout 2025.

Between January and August, more than 4.3 million bags of coffee were exported, a 58% increase compared to the same period last year. Foreign exchange revenue also advanced and exceeded US$ 1 billion, a 26% growth in the year-on-year comparison.

The performance has strong participation from conilon coffee, the main product of coffee farming in Espírito Santo. Cumulatively for the year, shipments of the variety grew 74%, while arabica coffee showed a 27% increase. Instant coffee, on the other hand, registered a 14% decline.

August maintains elevated pace

Movement was also significant in August. The Espírito Santo terminals recorded the shipment of 854 thousand bags, a 9% increase compared to July and 29% compared to August 2025.

Of the total handled in the month, 762 thousand bags were conilon, 63 thousand arabica and 29 thousand instant coffee.

According to data from the Vitória Coffee Trade Center, August's volume was the seventh largest monthly result in the entity's historical series, which began in January 1990.

Ports gain importance in the coffee chain

Export growth occurs in a scenario of exporters' investments in processing and storage structures, in addition to actions aimed at expanding the presence of Espírito Santo coffee in international markets.

Vports, the concessionaire responsible for the Port of Vitória, also highlights investments and initiatives aimed at expanding operational capacity and diversifying cargo handled.

According to the company, the expansion carried out at the container terminal managed by Log-In contributed to improving operational conditions related to exports.

The Vitória Coffee Trade Center and Vports maintain a cooperation agreement aimed at strengthening coffee exports through Espírito Santo's ports.

Espírito Santo coffee reaches dozens of markets

Cargo handled by Espírito Santo's ports is destined for different international markets.

In August, the main buyers were Belgium, Mexico, Germany, United Kingdom, Spain, United States, Italy, Ecuador, Indonesia and Turkey. Together, these ten markets accounted for 78% of exports that month.

Cumulatively from January to August, the distribution of destinations also demonstrates the presence of Espírito Santo coffee in different regions of the world, with emphasis on Belgium, Mexico, Colombia, United States, Spain and Germany.

Pressure on logistics infrastructure

The growth in shipments also increases the need to monitor the logistics capacity available to serve producers, exporters, terminals and shipowners.

The Vitória Coffee Trade Center itself points out that the expansion of exports reinforces the need for investments in port infrastructure to keep pace with Espírito Santo's production, in addition to cargo from southern Bahia and the Minas forest regions.

For the port sector, the advance in shipments represents not only greater cargo movement, but also the need for coordination between warehousing, land transport, terminals, maritime services and connection with international markets.

With more than 4.3 million bags exported through August, coffee is already consolidating itself as one of the main drivers of cargo movement at Espírito Santo's ports in 2026.
