The Minister of Ports and Airports, Tomé Franca, carries out an agenda this Friday (23rd) to formalize improvements to port infrastructure in the North and Northeast. In the morning, in Amapá, the minister will sign the lease contract for the MCP01 terminal, located at the Port of Santana. With a focus on the movement and storage of grains, such as soybeans and corn, the terminal will receive R$ 150.2 million in investments over the 25-year concession period. The funds will finance the installation of conveyor belts, a new ship loader, and interventions in land infrastructure and piers.

In the afternoon, the schedule continues in Paraíba, where Franca meets with Governor Lucas Ribeiro at the Port of Cabedelo. The meeting records the signing of an addendum of 6.7 million reais to Commitment Agreement No. 003/2026, directed toward dredging and rock removal works in the internal access channel and the turning basin. With the update, the project totals 71.15 million reais in investments, composed of 44.45 million from the federal government and 26.70 million in state counterpart funding.

The intervention in Cabedelo will enable the expansion of the diameter of the turning basin, the area designated for vessel maneuvering, from 330 to 450 meters. The adjustment will allow the Paraíban port complex to receive vessels up to 330 meters in length, also enabling the berthing of cruise ships.
