VLI reported on Wednesday (20th) that it achieved a new historical record in monthly movement of grains and meals in its railway operations. In April, the company transported 2.96 million tonnes, a volume 3.5% higher than the previous record registered in March 2025.
At the port terminals operated by the company, there was also growth. According to VLI, approximately 1.99 million tonnes were shipped in April, a result 0.5% higher compared to the same period in the previous year.
The company attributes the performance to recent investments in operational capacity increases, infrastructure modernization, and reinforcement of logistic security systems. Another factor cited was the expansion of routes connected to Brazilian export corridors.
According to Gabriel Fonseca, the company's general manager for grains, the expansion of VLI's participation in the meal movement chain also contributed directly to the positive results.
"This new record is the result of the evolution of our operational performance," highlighted the executive.
VLI also reported that the accumulated indicators for 2025 remain in strong growth. According to the company, 23 million tonnes of corn, soy, and meals have already been moved via railways operated by the company, a volume 16% higher than recorded in 2024.
At the ports administered by the company, the year-to-date total reached 15.4 million tonnes shipped, representing a 14% advance in year-over-year comparison.
The performance reinforces the growing role of Brazilian railway logistics in the flow of agricultural production, especially in a scenario of export expansion and increased competitiveness of the national agribusiness.
