The Port of Fortaleza now has a new access route to the Maritime Passenger Terminal following the completion of requalification works executed by Companhia Docas do Ceará (CDC). The intervention is part of the port infrastructure modernization program and represents another step toward raising operational efficiency, improving internal circulation, and offering better conditions for users and operators of the port complex.

With investments totaling R$ 6 million, the work brought about a complete transformation of the main access route to the terminal. Among the improvements carried out are the installation of interlocked paving, drainage system, public lighting, horizontal and vertical signage, construction of pedestrian walkways, a central median, and installation of a new security booth.

One of the main advances was the implementation of two-way traffic, a measure that significantly expands vehicle circulation capacity and reduces congestion points during periods of higher traffic. The change benefits not only cruise ship passengers, but also port workers, service providers, logistics operators, suppliers, and visitors who use the Maritime Passenger Terminal daily.

According to Companhia Docas do Ceará, the requalification also contributes to raising safety and organization levels at the terminal access, creating better conditions for the development of activities linked to maritime tourism, logistics, and events that have been held in the space in recent years.

According to CDC's Chief Executive Officer, Quintino Vieira, the completion of the work represents an important advance for the port's infrastructure. The expectation is that the new access will make operations more efficient, offering greater traffic fluidity internally and providing more comfort for all terminal users.

In addition to meeting the growing demand from cruise tourism, the investment reinforces the Port of Fortaleza's modernization strategy, which seeks to increase its competitiveness in both logistics operations and passenger movement. Infrastructure improvement also enhances the terminal's potential to host corporate, cultural, and institutional events, diversifying space usage and strengthening its importance for the Ceará economy.

The delivery of the work reaffirms Companhia Docas do Ceará's commitment to continuous modernization of its assets, creating conditions for the Port of Fortaleza to keep pace with the growth of port activities and maritime tourism, sectors considered strategic for the region's economic development.
