Sepetiba Tecon and Cosco Shipping Specialized Carriers (South America) took a strategic step to strengthen Brazilian foreign trade by formalizing the signing of a commercial contract with a 10-year term. The agreement expands cooperation between the companies and reinforces operations on the Brazil–China axis, one of the most relevant routes for global logistics.

The partnership, which began with storage and handling operations for empty containers, has evolved significantly over the years. Today, joint operations encompass general cargo, project cargo, electric vehicles and full container transport, expanding the range of logistics solutions available to the market.

Moreover, the new phase of cooperation already provides for expansion into cellulose and grain export operations, through the Brics Express Service, in break-bulk cargo operations, reinforcing the terminal's role in handling Brazilian commodities.

Currently, Sepetiba Tecon holds a prominent position as the only terminal in Brazil authorized by Cosco Shipping Specialized for export container shipments destined for China. The recognition strengthens its strategic relevance in the international logistics chain.

According to Rafael Vitale, director of Sepetiba Tecon, the signing represents an important advance in commercial relations and the development of new business.

"China has been, for many years, one of Brazil's main commercial partners, and this relationship becomes increasingly strategic. Considering this scenario, the signing of this contract represents not only a significant advance in commercial relations between the terminal and Cosco, but also a direct impact on the generation of new business and the expansion of service offerings to the market," he stated.

For Shan Guoyang, president of Cosco Shipping Specialized, the agreement symbolizes the trust built over the years between the companies.

"Sepetiba Tecon has demonstrated operational excellence and technical capacity to meet the demands of our multipurpose operations, which has been fundamental to the growth of our activities in Brazil," he highlighted.

The contract provides for the possibility of renewal and extension, signaling a long-term commitment to expanding logistics between the two countries.

"We remain committed to continuously investing in, evolving and expanding this partnership, which already shows concrete results and is expected to generate even more value for Brazilian foreign trade," Vitale concluded.
