The Court of Accounts of the Union (TCU) authorized, on Wednesday (21st), the formalization of an agreement for the return of approximately 3,000 kilometers of inoperative railroad stretches from the Northeast Network. The negotiation involves the National Agency for Land Transportation (ANTT), the National Department of Transportation Infrastructure (DNIT), the Ministry of Transportation, and Ferrovia Transnordestina Logística (FTL).
The compensation provided to the Union was maintained at R$ 1.785 billion. The decision, however, does not determine immediate payment of this amount nor does it ensure the extension of the concession contract, whose extension is scheduled for 2028.
