On May 31st, the 5th edition of Social Action Day took place in Cubatão (SP), promoted by Unipar and its Community Advisory Council (CCC) and supported by the Municipal Government. With free admission, over one thousand people attended events at Anilinas Park during more than 8 hours of activities. The action included over 190 vaccine doses administered by the Cubatão Health Department team, over 40 haircuts, and approximately 180 kg of food collected for donation, 50 children and youth participating in traffic education with the Municipal Transit Company (CTM) through the Legal Transit Project and Environmental Education initiatives, and 110 other participants in handicraft workshops using recyclable materials. The initiative took place in the same week that the company celebrated 57 years of history and the CCC 22 years of dialogue and connection between company and community.
"Today is a day that fills us with pride. In this edition, we have an even larger number of services being offered and a series of activities designed for the entire family. This action strengthens our strategy to positively impact the people and community where our factory is located, in line with our commitment to promoting sustainable and high-impact actions. In 2025 alone, Unipar supported 75 projects, with investments exceeding R$ 9.5 million, reaching approximately 5.6 million people," said Damián Greco, director of the Cubatão plant.
Throughout the day, programming was designed for all ages, featuring blood pressure screening, auriculotherapy, sports activities, educational and handicraft workshops, Sustainable Handicraft Workshop with the NGO Mãos Criativas, ceramic exhibitions with Soroptimists. In addition to exhibitions by the Albatroz Scout Group, Pier Clube and performances of two plays by Teatro Zanzalá.
For Edson Gomes, an entrepreneur who has been volunteering with the Cubatão CCC for several years, this partnership with Unipar has resulted in the event's evolution. "It's a joy! This is the fourth event I've participated in and we notice, year after year, how much this project has evolved in organization and community participation. Today we have a larger structure that offers more entertainment for children, pet adoption opportunities and many other essential services. It's gratifying to see this project grow."
The audience also enjoyed performances by the Padre José de Anchieta Musical Band, singer Fabrício Rodrigues, Banda Kubo Mágico, Grupo Incena, Bardallo Cultural and Cubatão Sinfonia. The population also had access to services and information from institutions such as the Guardianship Council, Civil Defense, Apell Cubatão, CMDCA and CMT.
For Paloma Xavier, a teacher who attended the event with her family, the opportunity for leisure and public service is fundamental. "For us it was a very interesting experience. We came to watch the theater, get our vaccinations up to date and enjoy the other attractions. Access to vaccination was the most important part, especially on an unusual day like Sunday. Getting vaccinated today has already made my life much easier."
