Juruá Shipyard delivered, this Wednesday (25th), in Iranduba (AM), the first of 10 bulk barges, financed by Caixa with resources from the Merchant Marine Fund (FMM). The operation, which involves credit of R$ 46 million, was established between the bank and CT Log, from the 3NF group. The vessels will navigate the Northern Arc, integrating ports and waterways in the North region and part of the Northeast, mainly for the export of grains produced in the Center-West, contributing to greater logistics efficiency and cost reduction in cargo transport.

The barges under construction at Juruá Shipyard (AM) total investments of R$ 52 million. The units will have cargo capacity of 3,000 tons each. The operation marks the first contract of this segment executed by Caixa in the Amazon region with a local company. The FMM financial agent emphasized that the financing reinforces the bank's strategic role in promoting river logistics and sustainable development. Caixa and Juruá Shipyard began their relationship at Navalshore Navegistic 2024, in Manaus.

Representatives from Caixa, CT Log and Juruá Shipyard participated in the barge launch on the Rio Negro. In a statement, the financial agent declared that the initiative contributes to expanding regional logistics capacity, improves efficiency in production export and strengthens the transport chain, benefiting producers, shipping companies and the entire logistics chain in the North region.

"The signing of the contract reinforces Caixa's role in offering financial instruments suited to the different realities of the country, contributing to regional economic growth and strengthening the governance necessary for clients to have access to these solutions," said Marco Buzzo, Caixa's national superintendent for securities intermediation and debt structuring.

Caixa's wholesale superintendent for the Amazon, Bruno Cabral, added that the financing demonstrates that the bank is attentive to its clients' specific needs. "In addition to environmental benefits, the use of river transport contributes to optimizing regional logistics and can generate cost savings in operational expenses for the companies involved and for the end consumer," he stressed.
