The municipality of Campinas recorded a positive balance of 5,219 companies opened between January and June of 2026. This figure represents a significant increase of 36% compared to the same period in 2025, when a balance of 3,834 new businesses was counted in the city.
The data are part of a survey conducted by Campinas's Department of Economic Development, Technology and Innovation and include information from the Commercial Board of the State of São Paulo (Jucesp). The indicator, compiled on July 14, corresponds to the difference between companies opened and closed in the first six months of the year and does not include registrations of Individual Microentrepreneurs (MEIs).
For Adriana Flosi, municipal secretary of Economic Development, Technology and Innovation, the growth demonstrates the confidence of entrepreneurs in Campinas's economy and reflects the work carried out to make the business environment increasingly competitive.
"Campinas brings together factors that make a difference for those who decide to start a business: a consolidated innovation ecosystem, skilled labor, universities, research centers and public policies aimed at economic development. This growth shows that more people and companies see the city as a safe environment to invest, grow and create jobs. Our commitment is to continue creating conditions for this movement to strengthen more and more," Adriana emphasizes.
