The federal government extended by two more years Companhia Docas do Estado da Bahia (Codeba)'s tenure managing Itajaí Port in Santa Catarina. With the decision by the Ministry of Ports and Airports, the decentralization agreement, which would expire on January 3, 2027, will remain in force until January 3, 2029.
The addendum was published on Tuesday in the Diário Oficial da União (DOU), following a request from the National Secretariat of Ports. The extension aims to ensure continuity of port management while the federal government completes the creation of a public company to permanently assume administration of the Santa Catarina terminal.
