The municipality of Cubatão positions itself as a national reference in the implementation of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), by adopting innovative and structured measures to integrate the 2030 Agenda into local public policies.

The holding of the first municipal SDG conference marks an important step in this process. The event will bring together civil society, experts and authorities to discuss strategies and present a detailed diagnosis of the municipality in relation to the 169 targets established by the UN.

Among the most relevant advances is the creation of the Municipal SDG Council with its own fund, an unprecedented initiative in Brazil. The measure ensures not only governance, but also financial capacity for the execution of projects aimed at sustainable development.

Another strategic point is the signing of a technical cooperation agreement aimed at the commercialization of carbon credits. Based on recent legislation, the municipality paves the way for raising resources and financing environmental actions, reinforcing its position at the forefront.

Historically recognized for environmental recovery, Cubatão now expands its role by structuring public policies aligned with global sustainability demands, consolidating itself as an example for other Brazilian cities.
