The Santos Port complex and its areas of operation guided students' attention to the Foreign Trade (Comex) and Logistics booths during the 51st Career Fair of Santa Cecília University, Unisanta, held this Tuesday. The demand for careers linked to the port shows a profile among the public that prioritizes business operation, commercial practice of products, and international entry within the professional sphere. This interest in the sector accompanies the need for local companies to have diverse options of potential professionals.

Vocational guidance events play the role of helping those who have doubts about which direction to take, directing young people toward their careers, and representing the routine of a given sector. At the Comex booth, the dynamics of the profession were displayed to interested parties based on practice.

University students explained the bureaucracy involved in the export and import of sensitive cargo, the length of stay in terminals, and the choice of transport mode according to the delivery route. The space also served to remind young people about entry opportunities that arise in multinational companies in the region, highlighting the use of professional networks and internship partnerships with the college.

To meet the city's demand, academic training needs to align international negotiation and operations. The coordinator of the Foreign Trade and Logistics courses at the institution, Fagner Severo, stresses that the two areas are intertwined: Comex operates in negotiation, while logistics is the organizational foundation that structures the processes.

He assesses that the differential required by companies is practical sector experience. "Our teachers work in the market and bring real experiences. Technical visits allow students to understand how operations function outside the classroom," he states.
