Danish giant LEGO has announced the launch of set 40955 Maersk Dual-Fuel Container Vessel, reviving one of the most emblematic partnerships between the toy universe and global maritime shipping. The model arrives on the international market on March 1, 2026, after a 12-year gap without new releases from the shipowner on the brand's official line.
The new set is inspired by the real ship Ane Mærsk, a vessel powered by dual-fuel technology, which allows operation with more sustainable fuels, aligning with Maersk's decarbonization strategy.
With 1,516 pieces and age rating 12+, the model focuses on a high level of detail. Highlights include an opening bridge, crew quarters interior, transparent windows in the engine room, sliding walkways, and buildable containers. The official price announced is US$ 149.99, with an estimated R$ 1,299.99 in Brazil, although there is still no confirmed date for arrival in the national market.

The collaboration between the two companies is not new. About a decade ago, LEGO launched a model inspired by the iconic Triple E, which at the time represented the world's largest container ships. The edition became memorable among collectors both for the ship's size and the impressive number of stickers on the containers, a detail that sparked debates and challenges among builders.
Now, fan expectations center on the assembly experience of the new set. The question driving specialized forums is whether the 40955 will feature a design with fewer stickers or repeat the "intensive crash course" in sticker alignment that marked its predecessor.

Meanwhile, the launch already sparks interest among naval engineering, logistics, and maritime transport enthusiasts, reinforcing how the port universe and megacontainers also find space in the collectibles and pop culture segment.
