The Port of Paranaguá reached a new milestone in port operations by recording the largest landing of imported electric vehicles ever carried out in Paraná. The operation was completed this Monday (23), with the arrival of 3,370 automobiles from Chinese manufacturer Geely, transported by the vessel Tang Hong, coming from the port of Nasha, in China.
According to Portos do Paraná, the port authority responsible for the administration of state terminals, the operation began on Sunday evening (22), at berth 219, an area dedicated exclusively to the movement of this type of cargo. Over 17 hours of continuous work, more than one hundred professionals participated in the activity, including longshoremen, mooring crews, inspectors and other agents involved in the operation.
According to Gabriel Vieira, director of port operations at Paranaguá, the discharge rate reached an average of 220 vehicles per hour, demonstrating the terminal's logistical efficiency.
After the vessel's departure, the vehicles were sent for storage at the Ascensus Vehicle Terminal. Subsequently, they will be delivered to Renault, Geely's partner in Brazil, and taken to the automaker's yard in São José dos Pinhais, in the Metropolitan Region of Curitiba. From there, the automobiles will proceed to distribution throughout the country.
The record reinforces the strategic role of the Port of Paranaguá in Brazilian automotive logistics, especially in a scenario of growing demand for electric vehicles and expansion of commercial relations with the Asian market.
