The Port of Itajaí received, this Wednesday (19), 599 luxury vehicles for import, brought by the ship Bosporus Highway, under Panamanian flag. The vessel berthed at berth 4 at approximately 5:30 p.m. and operates using the roll-on/roll-off (Ro-Ro) system, in which vehicles are loaded and unloaded via their own ramps.

The operation raised to over 17,000 the number of imported cars that have arrived in the city through Ro-Ro operations throughout 2026.

With 199.97 meters in length and 32.26 meters in width, the ship Bosporus Highway is specialized in vehicle transport. Its operations are carried out through the Ro-Ro system, a model that allows for the loading and unloading of vehicles without the need to use cranes.

According to the superintendent of the Port of Itajaí, Artur Antunes Pereira, the procedure demonstrates the diversity of cargo that the Port of Itajaí is capable of handling.

"The arrival of yet another vehicle operation reinforces the Port of Itajaí's capacity to handle different cargo profiles and demonstrates the continuity of Ro-Ro operations throughout this year. The movement of high-value vehicles also underscores the confidence of operators in the port infrastructure and helps strengthen Itajaí as a competitive alternative for this segment."
