The vessel received priority due to the risk of fuel shortage in the state of São Paulo, as reported by the National Agency for Oil, Natural Gas and Biofuels (ANP).
The port authority explained that the vessel MH Buiki brought the product from the Madre de Deus Maritime Terminal (Temadre), operated by Transpetro, in Bahia. According to APS, the operation was completed on March 30, with the unloading of 17,974 tonnes of type A gasoline at the Alamoa Liquid Bulk Terminal (Tegla), in Santos.
APS President Anderson Pomini said that, as a public terminal, it is the obligation of Santos Port to assess the country's needs and allow, following analysis, vessels to have priority under specific conditions.
"APS analyzed the request from a distributor and, given the risk of fuel shortage in São Paulo, authorized the priority entry of MH Buiki", Pomini stated.
