The area slated for lease covers approximately 29,000 square meters and is currently managed by Companhia Docas do Ceará.

According to the regulatory agency, the future contract will run for 25 years and includes estimated investments of R$ 1.12 billion for modernization and expansion of the terminal's operational infrastructure.

Among the obligations set for the future lessee is the construction of a new warehouse with a minimum capacity of 39,000 tons, plus the expansion of two existing warehouses in the port complex.

The project is part of a strategy to strengthen logistics infrastructure in the Northeast and seeks to expand the capacity for handling mineral cargo in Ceará, especially products used by industrial and construction chains.

ANTAQ reported that even after the public hearing, it will still be possible to submit suggestions and contributions regarding the technical and legal draft documents made available for consultation.

Submissions may be sent until 11:59 p.m. next Monday (11), exclusively through the electronic form available in the section for ongoing public hearings on the regulatory agency's website.

The agency also explained that supplementary documents, such as maps, plans, and digital images, may be sent by email to support the technical analysis of the project.

The sector expects that the lease will help boost the logistics competitiveness of Fortaleza Port and attract new private investments to the port infrastructure in the region.
