VLI announced the completion of a new railway line at Tiplam, a terminal located in the port region of Santos, São Paulo. The expansion received an investment of R$ 38 million and is part of the company's strategy to increase logistics efficiency in railway transport of fertilizers.

According to the company, two additional kilometers of railway were built within the terminal, a structure that will allow operational capacity to expand by up to 30%. The main focus of the expansion is to meet growing demand for fertilizers intended for productive chains in Brazil's interior, especially Mato Grosso.

With the new line, the expectation is to reduce waiting time for railway loading and unloading, as well as increase the volume of cargo moved in the logistics corridor.

Tiplam is part of VLI's Southeast Corridor, an integrated system that connects Brazil's Center-West to Baixada Santista by way of FCA. The corridor is strategic both for fertilizer imports and for the export of agricultural commodities, such as soybeans, corn, brans and sugar.

According to VLI's operations director for the Southeast Corridor, Marcelo Cardoso, the investment objective is to ensure greater predictability, fluidity and competitiveness for railway operations linked to Brazilian agribusiness.

The movement of fertilizers has gained strategic relevance in recent years due to increased agricultural demand and the need for greater logistics efficiency to supply the domestic market. Santos Port remains the country's primary entry point for these inputs.

The expansion of railway capacity also follows the growth of operations in the agricultural export corridor, considered one of Brazil's most important for moving Center-West production.
