The expansion project for the area known as PAR 14, located at the Port of Paranaguá, has taken another important step toward its implementation. The undertaking, led by BTG Pactual Commodities Sertrading, has been classified under the Special Regime for Infrastructure Development Incentives (Reidi), a federal mechanism that grants tax benefits for projects deemed strategic for the development of national infrastructure.

The classification allows for the suspension of federal tax collection on the acquisition of machinery, equipment, materials and services intended for the execution of works, helping to reduce costs and accelerate investments.

The PAR 14 area was awarded to BTG Pactual Commodities Sertrading during an auction held by Portos do Paraná in April 2025. The asset is considered strategic for increasing cargo movement and strengthening the logistical competitiveness of the Paraná port complex.

The Port of Paranaguá is one of Brazil's main export corridors for agribusiness and plays a fundamental role in the movement of grain, fertilizers and general cargo. The expansion of the leased area is expected to contribute to an increase in operational capacity and improved logistical efficiency of the terminal.

Industry specialists assess that the Reidi classification reinforces the attractiveness of private investments in port infrastructure, especially at a time of strong growth in demand for modern and efficient facilities to serve Brazilian foreign trade.

In addition to expanding cargo-handling capacity, the investments planned for the PAR 14 area should generate jobs during the implementation and operation phases, strengthening the regional economy and consolidating the Port of Paranaguá as one of the country's leading logistics hubs.

The initiative also aligns with the national strategy for modernizing port infrastructure, which seeks to increase private-sector participation in new projects and raise the competitiveness of Brazilian ports in the international market.
