The National Waterway Transport Agency (Antaq) has announced the postponement of the public hearing regarding the concession process for the access channel to the Port of Santos, in São Paulo. The session was scheduled to take place next Thursday, the 23rd, but according to the agency, a new date will be announced soon.
The meeting, considered strategic for the future of port infrastructure at Latin America's largest port, will be held in hybrid format, with in-person participation in Brasília, at the agency's headquarters building, as well as remote participation via livestream.
In addition to postponing the hearing, Antaq also announced an extension of the deadline for the submission of contributions, suggestions and input from interested parties. Now, companies, experts, industry representatives and civil society will be able to send their submissions until July 1, 2026.
The measure extends the timeframe for analysis and participation of the agents involved in one of the most relevant projects for national port logistics. The concession of the access channel to the Port of Santos is viewed by the sector as an important step toward operational modernization, increased efficiency and improved navigational capacity and maneuvering of vessels.
Jornal Portuário will continue to monitor the next developments and the announcement of the new public hearing date.
