The Ministry of Ports and Airports (MPor) held on Tuesday (24), in partnership with the National Civil Aviation Agency (Anac) and the Brasil Export group, the 11th edition of the Aviation More Brazil Award and the 3rd edition of the Accessibility Award. The event highlighted the performance achieved by airport operators and airlines in the country and marked the announcement of new measures to expand investments in regional aviation.

For Minister Silvio Costa Filho, Aviation More Brazil is a milestone for the sector, which has broken records in passenger movements by registering 130 million air travelers in 2025. "The award is fundamental recognition for aviation, because it values inclusion initiatives, best practices in service delivery, and provides more comfort and well-being to people," he highlighted.

Divided into six categories, Aviation More Brazil included criteria such as operational performance, punctuality, and passenger satisfaction levels. In the Best Regional Airports category, Montes Claros Airport (MG) won in the Southeast, and was also recognized as Brazil's best regional airport. In the South, Joinville Airport (SC); in the Center-West and North, Sinop (MT); and in the Northeast, Aracaju (SE).

The Award also recognized the most punctual airports in the past year: Goiânia (GO), among those serving up to 5 million passengers; Santos Dumont (RJ), serving 5 to 10 million travelers; and Brasília (DF), with movements above ten million passengers. Latam was also recognized for schedule compliance, while Azul won the award for best airline in the country.

In the Best National Airports by passenger movement category, Vitória (ES) won among those serving up to 5 million passengers; Florianópolis (SC), among those moving 5 to 10 million, and was also elected Brazil's best airport. Brasília won among those with movements above 10 million.

Accessibility Award

Composed of two categories, the Accessibility Award recognized Latam Airlines as the leading national airline in Innovation and Accessibility, with the project "Latam Accessible: Libras Interpreters Platform". The most innovative and accessible airport operator in 2025 was Florianópolis (SC), with the project "Digital Map".

Recalling the creation of multisensory rooms for people with autism spectrum disorder in airports, Costa Filho reinforced: "It is important to pay close attention to accessibility. We need to connect with the world. Aviation is a sector that generates jobs, income, and drives the country forward. Therefore, it is essential that there be investment in technology in the sector, both on our part and on the part of concessionaires. Also to ensure accessibility and inclusion," he stressed.

According to the National Secretary of Civil Aviation, Daniel Longo, "it is a great satisfaction to see the Aviation More Brazil Award recognize what is most important in the sector: the quality of service provided to citizens. The highlighted results reflect a joint effort by the entire aviation ecosystem, focusing on efficiency, punctuality, and above all on passenger experience. We have also advanced by valuing accessibility initiatives, reinforcing the commitment to more inclusive aviation. We will continue working to expand connectivity and guarantee increasingly safe, efficient, and accessible air transport for all Brazilians."

For the National Secretary of Rights of Persons with Disabilities at the Ministry of Human Rights and Citizenship, Isadora Nascimento, promoting the dignity of people with disabilities is ensuring a fundamental right, and cannot be seen as an exception: "the air sector must be prepared to receive all people. By valuing these initiatives, the Award creates important references and makes clear that it is possible to have a more accessible and inclusive air sector, where all people belong—with or without disabilities.

The results of both awards considered satisfaction surveys conducted with over 111 thousand users at 61 airports across the country. Three airlines and the movement of more than 1.5 million takeoffs and landings were also used as a basis for the awards.

Launch of the Invest More Regional Airports Program

During the ceremony, the act creating the "Invest More Regional Airports Program" was also signed. The new regulation extends to states and municipalities the possibility of authorizing commercial contracts with terms longer than the concession itself or delegation agreement, as already happens with the Union, through the Invest More Airports Program.

In practice, it will be possible to adopt a progressive and proportional system of terms, sensitive to contract maturity and investment size. The idea is to attract large-scale enterprises by integrating regional airfields into local economies.

According to the Minister of Ports and Airports, Silvio Costa Filho, the ordinance represents greater security and predictability for investors. "With this new rule, it will be possible to close contracts for up to 45 years. This opens the door to investments in hotels, shopping centers and modern cargo terminals. In the end, the airport gains new revenue sources, the passenger gains better services and the whole region grows," he highlighted.

In practice, by extending the scope of Investe Mais Aeroportos to delegated aerodromes, regional aviation and the local economy benefit by attracting long-term structural investments. Diversifying revenue sources with robust commercial enterprises also helps make them more self-sufficient.

Today, 422 airports are managed by states and municipalities through delegation agreements with the Union. In 50 of them, it is possible to enter into long-term commercial contracts. Check the complete list below:
