Accompanied by National Public Security Secretary Chico Lucas, the minister and his delegation were received by the APS president at the Naval Inspection Pier. During the visit, Pomini announced that the public company plans to make investments of R$300 million between 2022 and 2030, aimed at hiring, expanding the operational capacity, technological capabilities and response capacity of the Port Guard.

Among the investments, R$90 million is earmarked for equipment such as 314 9mm pistols, 10 9mm carbines, 10 gauge 12 shotguns, as well as a fleet renewal with another 17 operational vehicles, 1 truck, winch, 1 mobile base, 8 motorcycles, two fire trucks and two armored vessels.

Another R$89 million will be used for implementation of VTMIS, a highly technological tool used for managing ship traffic in real time, preventing accidents, optimizing maneuvers and ensuring comprehensive protection of navigation in the estuary.

R$62 million will be used for Santos Port to meet the Smart Port concept, through implementation of AI technologies, facial recognition, vehicle monitoring, data integration, intelligent traffic lights, 1,260 video monitoring cameras, thermal cameras and OGI and 5G network.

Finally, in 2026, APS laid the cornerstone of the new Federal Police headquarters at the entrance of the estuary, in a project estimated at R$58 million. The Federal Police work together with the Port Guard, as well as other agencies such as the Brazilian Federal Revenue, Brazilian Navy, Military Police, Civil Police and ANTAQ.

Additionally, APS highlighted the hiring and training of 80 new port guards, selected through public competition between 2025 and 2026. With changes in the personnel roster, the Port Guard now has 336 members.

Wellington César Lima e Silva stated that in addition to integration of all forces, investment in technology and intelligence is needed. "The Justice Ministry is here today, united with all the institutions represented, to make Santos Port a success story. And this will only happen with integration of forces, diagnosis of the types of organized crime actions and input of technology and intelligence. And we are doing this, both by bringing together all institutions of the Federal Government, State Government, and all who participate here, as well as strengthening the Port Guard personnel and this equipment," said the minister.

Anderson Pomini declared himself honored by the visit of the minister and secretary. "This represents the relevance of Santos Port for Brazil, which should even be used as a major laboratory for implementing technologies in combating organized crime."
