Jornal Portuário is providing special coverage of the XXV International Coffee Seminar, considered one of the largest global forums in the coffee segment and one of the most important meetings related to foreign trade, infrastructure and logistics of Brazilian agribusiness.
The event, held at the Santos Convention Center and organized by the Santos Commercial Association (ACS), had its official opening this Tuesday (19th), bringing together authorities, executives, business leaders and representatives from 24 countries. Over the course of three days, the expectation is to receive more than a thousand participants in a program focused on the main challenges and trends in the global coffee market.
Jornal Portuário's coverage follows the main debates related to port infrastructure, technological innovation, sustainability, international trade and logistics expansion, themes that have direct connection with the development of Santos Port and national agribusiness.
During the opening ceremony, the president of ACS, Mauro Sammarco, highlighted the historical relevance of the seminar, which marks five decades of trajectory. According to him, coffee represents a strategic link between Brazil and the international market, reinforcing the need for investments in infrastructure, regulatory security and artificial intelligence to maintain Brazilian competitiveness.
Another highlight of the opening was the participation of the president of the Santos Port Authority, Anderson Pomini, who stressed the historical relationship between the development of coffee growing and the expansion of national logistics.
"Santos Port represents 30% of Brazilian commercial flow. If it were not for the strength of the rural producer, especially of coffee, the ports and national logistics would not have reached the current level of development," he stated.
Jornal Portuário also follows discussions on sustainability and ESG within the coffee chain. The director of the National Waterway Transport Agency, Cristina Castro, highlighted the alignment of Brazilian producers with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), emphasizing practices linked to environmental preservation, social inclusion and innovation in the field.
Another point that gained prominence in the seminar was the strength of Santos Port as the main logistics corridor for Brazilian coffee exports. During the program, participants also conducted a technical visit to the port channel, organized in partnership with APS, seeing firsthand the operational structure of the largest port in Latin America.
The presence of Jornal Portuário at the event reinforces the portal's commitment to bringing strategic information, specialized coverage and content targeted at the port, logistics, industrial and foreign trade sectors, connecting the public to the main discussions that impact national economic development.
