To draw attention to Women's Day and showcase the great technical and management capabilities of professionals in the Brazilian logistics sector, Instituto PORTa held the "Cabotage Leadership" Forum last Thursday (March 5). With the presence of major names and specialists, women were present on all panels, in lectures and in the audience.

The program was divided into three main themes, which discussed the economic scenario, operational challenges in Brazilian ports and career opportunities in the inland waterway transport sector. "The event was created to address issues of critical interest to the sector and to show that women are part of it," says PORTa founder Patrícia Lia Brentano.

"The Institute was founded to generate debate, create spaces where women are protagonists, where they can converse as equals with male leaders and demonstrate their skills and competencies," Patrícia adds.

The forum was sponsored by CMA CGM, Mercosul Line, Norsul, Aliança and Log In Logística, the Women Entrepreneurs and Culture Council of Santos (CMEC) and the Santos Chamber of Commerce (ACS). With institutional support from the Ministry of Ports and Airports (MPOR), Transpetro, National Agency of Waterway Transport (ANTAQ), Brazilian Infrastructure Institute (IBI).

The first panel addressed Cabotage Market Perspectives. Moderated by Cinthia Benvenuto (Inocentti Advogados), participants included specialists Mariana Guimarães (Log-In), Sabrina Campanha (Aliança), Ariana Zanoni (ADM) and Gabriela Piguin (Braskem).

In panel 2, featuring Rebecca Ferreira (MPOR), Aline Carvalho and Adrielle Melo (Norsul), Morgana Mendes (Log-In) and Patrícia Lia Brentano (PORTa), the focus was on career development, growing professionalization and leadership opportunities in the segment.

The final panel of the day, "Port Infrastructure and Cabotage Cargo," focused on the physical and regulatory assets essential for sector growth. Moderated by Patrícia Lia Brentano, the discussion brought together Gabriela Costa (ATP), Flávia Pontilhão (Antaq), Felipe Gurgel (Log-In) and Eduardo Galo (Mercosul Line), who analyzed the current state of Brazilian terminals and the need for modernization to support increased demand.
