Logistics challenges for Brazilian coffee exports were among the main topics discussed during the XXV International Coffee Seminar in Santos. Representatives from the productive sector, exporters, and port authorities warned of the urgent need for infrastructure investments.
Among the main bottlenecks identified are road access to Santos Port, railway limitations, and cargo accumulation during harvest periods. According to specialists, many exporters face losses due to delays in shipments and operational difficulties at the port.
The Santos Port Authority highlighted the importance of logistics modernization to keep pace with the growth of Brazilian exports. The increase in coffee consumption in Asia, particularly in China, was also cited as a factor that further pressures the need for expansion of operational capacity.
During the debates, sector leaders advocated for investments in new access roads to the Baixada Santista region, railway expansion, and improvements in land access to the port.
COOXUPÉ also participated in the seminar, reinforcing the potential of Brazilian coffee in the international market. The company highlighted actions aimed at commercial promotion of the product in strategic markets, such as the Asian market, expanding opportunities for domestic producers and exporters.
